Wedding Church in Cana

A small church is built here to commemorate the first recorded miracle of Jesus in John’s Gospel, where he changed water into wine in the village of Cana. The present structure is built above the remains of a Crusader and earlier Byzantine church, the remains of which can be seen in the crypt. Many couples who come to this church like to renew their wedding vows and one of the sisters will arrange for small certificates to be given and a short blessing ceremony to be held.
