Gethsemane

This Garden at the bottom of the Mount of Olives is, by tradition, the place where Jesus prayed with his disciples prior to his arrest, trial and execution. There is a walkway around the perimeter of the garden where one can view olive trees some said to have been there at the time of Jesus and younger ones including one planted by Pope Paul VI in 1966 on his visit to the Holy Land. On the other side of the road there is a more recent walled garden where groups can spend some time in prayer away from the crowds of visitors. It is a very peaceful place to spend some time and a visit can be arranged by speaking to the gatekeeper.
